September Exploring Updates
1) It's Fall Open House time for many of our Exploring Posts!
Please contact us right away with times/dates and we will send
a staff person or a member of our Service Team to support your recruitment efforts!
2) Explorers: Now is the time to start thinking about applying
for one of three Northern Star Council Exploring Scholarships!
i) Allan G. Lee Scholarship: Awarded to two Northern Star
Law Enforcement Explorers annually in the amount of $1,000.00 each.
ii) Willy Lee Bjorge Scholarship: Awarded to two Northern Star Explorers
in any discipline annually in the amount of $1,000.00 each.
iii) Northern Star Exploring Scholarship, awarded annually to a Northern
Star Explorer in the amount of $1,000.00.

3) Welcome new (and returning) Exploring Service Team members!
Dina Boie: Service Team Chair. Dina brings years of experience in all
aspects of Scouting and Youth Development. Professionally, Dina is a
Nurse & Paramedic and she currently works in the Health-care industry.
Andrea Paulet: Service Team Member. Andrea has been involved in Exploring
for many years as a youth and as an Adult Advisor. Professionally Andrea
serves as the Communications Director for a Charter School in the Twin Cities.
John Lasswell: Service Team Member. John also brings years of Scouting and
Exploring experience to the team! John is trained as an Engineer and has
served as an Exploring Advisor.
Sara Klaes: Service Team Member. Sara began as an Explorer and currently
serves as an Advisor for the Law Enforcement Exploring Post in the City of Plymouth.

Each month we would like to recognize an Explorer and an Exploring Post doing
great things in their communities! Please send your stories, articles and photos
to firstname.lastname@example.org for possible inclusion in a future edition of the
Northern Star Scouting e-Navigator or on the www.explornow.org website or on our
Northern Star Exploring Facebook Page!
